Tiiu has been a part of the Rural Solutions team since 2015 having started her career in broadcast journalism. Since joining the company as a planning administrator, Tiiu has progressed to being a key part of our stellar advisory team.

What is your role at Rural Solutions?

Project Coordinator for the advisory team.  I keep our team organised to ensure efficiency. I’m also a client liaison to ensure they are kept up-to-date, while obtaining and sharing information and also set meetings.

What is the most exciting part of your job and your favourite project to date?

I love that no two projects are the same. There are similarities, yes, but there are enough differences to remain interesting. The advisory department usually come in at the very beginning – we’re the team that helps you decide what you want to do and advise you on what will and won’t work in your particular circumstances.

I enjoy going to site and meeting clients; some are quite tentative in that they have no idea what they want to do, others come to with an idea already in their head but, either way, it’s great to hear their enthusiasm for trying something new and using their assets to create something wonderful. It’s also great to see their confidence grow as they start to see their concepts come to life.

If you gave up your day job…

I’d definitely be a roadie for a rock band!  I have a real passion for live music …. a lot of my friends are musicians or crew and I spend a lot of time going to gigs far and wide.

When you’re not working, you’re…

Walking my two dogs or attending a concert. I’m also very active and can usually be found at the gym or on a squash court. I also love travelling and try to fit in as much as possible.
