We are proud to share the news of our Director of Planning, Duncan Hartley’s latest Para 55 success in West Oxfordshire.
The application was the first Para 55 (to our knowledge) to be approved by the West Oxfordshire District Council.
The site, on the edge of an AONB area came with its own individual challenges in order to complement and enhance the landscape. Rural Solutions worked and established a very close and effective relationship with the other contributors to the project; guiding the process along with the landscape architect, architect – Chris Seymour-Smith of Seymour Smith Architects and the ecologist. Ensuring that the design outcomes met the stringent requirements of National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) Para 55 (often known as the ‘Gummer’s Clause’) and were presented effectively to the Council.
Rural Solutions undertook the work to guide the engagement with all stakeholders including: Parish Council, local residents, District Councillors and lead the approach with the Design Review Panel in order to deliver a positive endorsement of the scheme.
Director Duncan Hartley, who worked on the project, states ‘This has been a momentous planning achievement for us, working with West Oxfordshire District Council. We were delighted that the permission was given first time by the Planning Committee. A great result.’
