PLANNING NEWS – Momentous planning success for new, European-inspired Bar & Kitchen in North Yorkshire

Rural Development, leisure development in the countryside, ideas for diversifcation, planning consent, planning permission, alexanders skipton, norht yorkshire, rural dviersification, specialistsRural Solutions are delighted to share news of the extensive planning work that has been achieved at the new Alexander’s bar & kitchen venue, in the market town of Skipton.

From inception, Rural Solutions were involved in the ambitious planning approval submission allowing for the Grade II* listed building to be sensitively and expertly converted to a high quality and beautifully designed all day dining eatery and cocktail bar, unlike anything seen before in the town.

It was important that the planning application contained all the relevant information regarding sustainability, heritage and economic benefit that the council needed to make the appropriate decision on the refurbishment of such a historically significant building, located at the top of the high street.

The site now open to the public has been a huge hit so far; combining a bar, restaurant, private function facility, outdoor heated terrace, seasonal pop-up experiences in their ‘secret garden’ over-looking the Leeds Liverpool canal and live entertainment. It is sure to become a successful, firm favourite for the local residents and tourists alike for many years to come.
