Work is continuing on a new Local Plan for the North Yorkshire Moors, which will cover the period 2016-35.
When completed it will replace the current Core Strategy and Development Policies document (2008) and sit alongside other documents to form what is known as North Yorkshire Moors Development Plan. Policies within the plan will be the main determinant when deciding applications for planning permission. The North Yorkshire Moors planning authority are now asking for comments and feedback on three key areas for the New Local Plan; settlement hierarchy, housing strategy and important undeveloped and community spaces. They have produced a short document which poses 13 questions around a possible policy approach to these areas, and they are asking for responses.
If you are a land owner or have an interest in land within the North Yorkshire Moors, Rural Solutions would be happy to talk with you about how best you can engage in the consultation process, protect your future development potential and help shape and influence the direction and content of the newly emerging plan.
