PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE NEWS – Permissions for new leisure and tourism facilities at working farm and listed building in Cotswolds AONB

We are delighted to share the news of our latest and impressive success at Whalley Farm. A beautiful site in the Cotswolds AONB.

Achieving planning and listed building consent for the site, which was informed by the detailed advice of landscape, heritage, highways, ecology, flood risk and drainage consultants to develop a wonderfully efficient and effective scheme designed in partnership with the Rural Solutions team and Lewandowski Architects.

A delegated decision; the permission will allow for the demolition of the existing agricultural buildings, the erection of new modern farm buildings, the conversion and change of use of a stone barn and meal house from commercial use to provide 10 units of guest accommodation, a change of use of an existing agricultural building to provide a guest pool house and the creation of domestic, equestrian facilities on the site. A fantastic achievement.

Engagement with Cotswold District Council, included working closely with the Council’s conservation and landscape officer’s. This proposal will facilitate a new purpose-built farmstead alongside a small rural business comprising of guest accommodation and a pool house, all of which will provide the necessary income stream to support the farming enterprise.
