Rural Solutions Planning achieved consent for this unique design within a complex and deeply rural setting.

This innovative new dwelling will be set in historic woodland near a Yorkshire Dales market town.  The design of the building cantilevers over a new lake and restoration of a former Victorian pleasure garden will be an element of the project.  The site was previously a lead mine and the building will be clad with zinc and wood to reflect this.  The house will be zero carbon rated and totally efficient in terms of energy and environment with hydro and water source heating.

The scheme was supported by the Parish Council, Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty team and Yorkshire Gardens Trust and was consented by Harrogate Borough Council after an extensive consultation process.

Construction is expected to commence in 2016/17.
