Having worked with the client for many years, Rural Solutions were tasked with delivering the family’s new home in Wiltshire. Following a successful planning application process led by Rural Solutions, the project commenced with demolition of a steel portal framed structure, building a new timber clad extension and refurbishment of the existing 19th Century stone and brick farm buildings. Extensive groundworks were carried out including installation of a ground source heat pump, new water supply and landscaping incorporating a haha and improvements to the farm track and courtyard. The full construction process included discharging planning conditions and working with third party consultants through to a full tender exercise comprising production of tender documentation, contractor selection, preparation of contract documentation and contract administration.

Our client now has a stunning contemporary 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with a large open plan living area while retaining original features including trusses, beams and milking stand. Three small workspace units are connected to the property and provide start- up business accommodation for local small businesses. An eco-garage also incorporates mezzanine accommodation suitable for bats and owls along with external swallow nesting boxes.

Our client said this about our work on this project …

“Rural Solutions came highly recommended from a family member who had previously engaged with the company.  Quite simply put, the Project Management was faultless.  The team worked tirelessly to bring the project in on time and on budget and their tenacity and attention to detail was constant.  Their management skills were first class and they were always working to keep the lines of communication open.  It now gives us the ability to live and work from home in the village of East Knoyle where our children now represent a fourth generation with a connection to the area.  For me it is a return to the village where I grew up.”
