A SNEAK PEEK OF THE LATEST WORKS OF ANDY GOLDSWORTHY
Here at Rural Solutions, we are lucky enough to be working on an incredibly exciting project with the internationally acclaimed sculptor, Andy Goldsworthy. More information on the project itself will follow when we are able, but for now, we wanted to share with you some of Andy’s unique and fantastic creations. Andy’s work can be found all over the world, in places such as the New York State Park, Herring Island – Australia and closer to home here at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Andy’s work takes both inspiration and material from our natural surroundings. It is often temporary and affected by the constant changes in our environment. His innovative sculptures meld into nature at the same time as catching our eye and challenging our established thoughts by simply re-framing our view of everyday surroundings.
He is particularly skilled in working with challenging mediums such as melting ice, decaying leaves or seemingly immovable boulders. The uniqueness of his art often comes from its temporary state and the fact that it is often reclaimed by nature, Andys view is that it becomes part of the history of that place.
Whilst we wait for the unveiling of his new collection, Andy has kindly allowed us to share some of his recent, transient creations which he has captured on film. The frosty temperatures this winter have enabled him to create some thought-provoking and stunning pieces. We could not turn down the opportunity to share some of these amazing creations with you.
