PLANNING NEWS: PLANNING SECURED FOR CONTEMPORARY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT IN NORTH CORNWALL COAST AONB
Rural Solutions has secured planning consent for two new houses in the historic coastal fishing village of Port Isaac, on behalf of client developer Candelisa.
Working with Cornwall based architect, Studio Arc, the two contemporary style properties will replace an existing bungalow on the site, and optimise the far reaching views that can be enjoyed from the positioning.
The planning team worked closely with the planning authority and architects to ensure that this tall development could be realised on the site, which sits within the North Cornwall Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
‘The UK’s coastal towns continue to grow in popularity as a place to holiday. Therefore, although difficult to achieve planning with the right team in place, there are opportunities to develop inspiring rural, coastal retreats that make the most of their surroundings.’ James Ellis, Associate Director, Planning.
The consent is the third achieved in the local area and the second in Port Isaac, following recent consents to convert the church rooms in Port Isaac and to remove an occupancy condition on a property in Polzeath.
