The results of our annual colleague sentiment survey have been compiled and we are delighted to share some top line results with you.

We had an overall response rate of 77% from the team.

  • 87% of those respondents stating they agree or strongly agreed that they would recommend Rural Solutions as a place to work and that our vision and culture motivated them in their work.
  • 97% agreed or strongly agreed that they were confident in the leadership of the business and enjoyed working here.
  • Finally, the survey also told us that 100% of those that responded were proud to work at Rural Solutions.
We chose questions based on our understanding of what shapes a colleagues’ overall experience and satisfaction levels at work and what we know is important to the success of the business. We asked them questions about their confidence in company strategy, client service expectations, culture, communication, team ethos, working to targets, feelings on leadership, performance and progression.

We have asked these questions in order to pinpoint areas for improvement and identify trends over different service areas. It helps us track our ability as an employer to provide the best support we can to colleagues and ensure that they are happy and motivated.

As the company grows, our core ambition is to strive to maintain this positive sentiment and culture. We are currently working on ways to ensure our business areas continue to work very closely and maintain our common focus

As a result of last year’s survey, we have made various improvements to our performance management processes as a result of colleague feedback and implemented new things such as, an Employee Assistance Programme. This is a service provided by Health Assured that provides a source of help and information, including a 24-7 helpline, offering colleagues support, a confidential place to go for support and advice at times of stress.

We also invested in a break out space for colleagues to get away from their desks, and increased the frequency of team social events.

Finally, championing our commitment to health and wellbeing, we also introduced a company funded weekly yoga session for those in the Northern office.

We know there are always things to improve and we intend to continue listening to our colleagues and striving to make Rural Solutions one of the most enjoyable places to work.
