ICE CREAM PARLOUR DESIGN & PLANNING
Rural Solutions Architecture were tasked with producing a design which reflected the ambitions of the client and their business. A meticulous design process followed where various options were exhausted before a final design was chosen and developed to secure full planning permission for the world’s largest purpose built ice cream parlour.
Working with the Rural Solutions Planning team, full planning consent was granted and following this the Architecture and Project Management teams took the design to the next stage with a full building control application and tender package being produced to take the proposal forward into the construction phase.
The proposed ice cream parlour is a steel frame structure clad with timber and large sections of glazing. The scheme will make use of lo-tech renewable technologies including natural ventilation and a concrete floor slab to aid temperature control within the scheme through its thermal mass.
