The applicants wanted to deliver a new house with genuine innovation on a site with heritage interest in a registered park and garden, with interest from Historic England and The Gardens Trust.

Working with the client and architect over an extended period of time and in the context of a difficult local authority approach, we were able to convince the council and design review panel of the innovative nature of the new house. We were also able to advise the applicant on securing substantial support from the local community including neighbours, the Parish Council and Ward Councillor.

Delegated planning approval for the first off-grid hydrogen house in Europe and a new home for a family with a unique connection to the site (part of a family land holding and the applicants had been married upon it).
