Working closely with Rural Solutions Architecture a collective vision for a new Georgian style country house and parkland setting were developed within an existing agricultural field. Within the wider land holding and house setting landscape enhancements included, 1.5ha of deciduous woodland, 1100m of native hedgerow planting, 1.2ha of species rich grassland margins, a 2.85ha parkland reverted from intensive agriculture, 0.8ha of landscape corridors and restoration of existing dry-stone walls. The landscape enhancements ensure a significant increase to the ecological and biodiversity value.
Within the immediate house setting a series of formal terraces traverse and soften the extensive site topography which are further complemented with several intimate family spaces embracing the south west aspect. As part of a wider rural estate a secondary rural access provides links to the peripheral field network to ensure the entire landholding is considered cohesively.
